Why Data Are Collected
Data collected on students, employees, corporations, and schools are used for state and federal reporting purposes.
Various data are collected each year from public, charter and nonpublic schools (accredited and freeway). For accreditation, data must be reported in a timely and accurate manner. Click HERE to view a list of data collections.
Data Stewards within the Indiana Department of Education provide direction and guidance to school districts on policy and data reporting requirements.
An Advisory Council, consisting of appointed business officials throughout the state, is consulted on matters that may impact data collection or create a burden for schools and districts.
