Elementary School
Staff provide explicit social emotional instruction to students during their Success periods on Wednesdays; PBIS is implemented school-wide to teach character traits, provide a systems of supports and incentives for positive behavior, and provide a sense of pride and community in the school environment; MTSS meets weekly to provide proactive interventions for students
Middle School
WIT is intended to provide time for one-on-one conversations with students, time to discuss/teach social skills, time to discuss testing and makeup work/ to get caught up in classes. It is a school-wide intervention time for every student to work on mastering grade level standards, improving grades, and completing work. Time to ask for help on whatever may be a struggle. Staff provide social emotional instruction to students during their PRIDE periods on Wed at North Decatur Junior/Senior High School. PrIDE time is utilized to provide instruction, both academic and socially emotionally, to homogeneous groups (utilize flexible groupings) to meet students' needs for enrichment and support
High School
Staff provide social emotional instruction to students during their WIT periods on Wed at South Decatur Jr/Sr High School. Staff provide social emotional instructions to students during their PRIDE periods on Wed at North Decatur Jr/Sr High School. The high school uses Naviance to help teach college, career, and life readiness through lessons that help students undertand their personality, build teamwork, and develop effective communication.
